We are Gabe and Chris, the founders of Knotted, who share a common passion: timeless antique rugs.
Why are we passionate about antique rugs?
A rug can bring out the best in a room, regardless of space and style. Since authentic antique rugs are not mass produced, they are all unique and come with their own set of characteristics. They were also made in a time where quality was the number one priority, using nothing but the finest workmanship and organic dyes. Today, most rugs are mass produced and riddled with chemical compounds, resulting in non-sustainable practices and rugs that simply won’t stand the test of time.
The problem with buying an antique rug today is threefold. Firstly, it’s hard to even know what to look for. Secondly, antique rugs are mostly sold through galleries and auctions, making them far less accessible than their newer counterparts. Thirdly, the prices are often inflated due to a lack of product knowledge among consumers.
We plan to change this. Knotted was founded on the premise of simplifying and streamlining every step of the process, making it easier and more accessible to buy a piece that elevates your space. We are both collectors, and we’ve built an extensive, carefully curated and ever-growing collection of antique rugs that we’re excited to share with you and the world.
Thanks for stopping and browsing for your next antique rug.
